The agricultural high schools in Västra Götaland faced stereotypes like “you won’t get university eligibility” or “mostly for school-weary students and farmers,” and they struggled to increase student numbers.

Choosing a school can be tough. It’s full of “shoulds” and “musts,” and it can feel like your whole future is at stake. The agricultural high schools in Västra Götaland faced stereotypes like “you won’t get university eligibility” or “mostly for school-weary students and farmers,” and they struggled to increase student numbers.

With the concept “Choose Yourself, Choose Your Dream”, we showcased the real side of Västra Götaland’s agricultural high schools, appealing to students’ instincts and emotions. These are schools where you can have fun and feel good, where childhood passions can find a place in the classroom – and yes, you’ll still get your university eligibility. Launched in 2020, the campaign has increased applications every year and encouraged more ninth graders to follow their dreams.
