How We “Carbon-Dieted” a Heavy Industry

Gothenburg Port is the largest in the Nordics – and it has an ambitious climate goal: reduce the port’s carbon emissions by 70% by 2030. That’s more than 140,000 tons of CO₂ per year. This makes Gothenburg Port an attractive choice for customers looking to reduce their own carbon footprint. We wanted to tell that story – but how could we stand out in a sea of generic sustainability photos and worn-out green clichés?

The campaign “The Carbon Diet” showed port customers how much lighter their transport emissions could be when routing through Gothenburg Port. An interactive tool on the port’s website allowed users to compare different logistics solutions from an environmental and climate perspective. The campaign ran across business and daily newspapers, social media, and newsletters, focusing on the customers’ own operations and the benefits they could gain from the port’s climate efforts.
